NPR and the Democrats Have Lost Me Forever

An Open Letter to NPR

Dear NPR,

You are dead to me.

For some twenty years, my car radio was permanently tuned to the local NPR affiliate. I listened to nothing else and reveled in the feeling of being one of the intellectually and morally superior ones.

Then during the 2016 election, both the Democratic Party and NPR veered so far to the left that they disappeared over the horizon. The final blow to my NPR loyalty resulted from its fanatical support of Hillary Clinton, the worst candidate I had ever seen in my 60-odd years on the planet.

The thought of Hillary as president drove me, for the very first time, to thoughts of suicide. I seriously doubted that I would be capable of surviving four years of that voice incessantly whining and nagging. Hillary literally made my skin crawl.

The fact that with half a year still to go, NPR was already treating her as the guaranteed winner was all the more infuriating.

That’s when I stopped listening to NPR.

Then just when we all thought that NPR was a dead non-binary person walking, it found a way to make things even worse.

Meet the wacky new NPR BossGirl, Katherine Maher.

You can tell a great deal from just the picture. All that’s missing is the blue hair. The hat tells us that she is going to have NPR double down on the stupid no matter how destructive it is for the country. The pointless mask, which offers zero protection, tells us that she mindlessly supports every Current Thing the Lefties concoct. (The name for people who continued wearing masks after 2022 is appropriately Covidiots.)

I doubt that Katherine has any children because privileged white women like her normally refuse to in order to defy the mythical PATRIARCHY. However, my hunch is that all of her cats are nonbinary vegans.

NPR has long outlived its usefulness, and I am confident that the new BossGirl will accelerate its journey down the drain.
