New Verb: De Niro "De Niro-ed" Himself
A new verb enters the lexicon.

To destroy one’s legacy.
To self-sabotage.
To display a lack of intelligence or understanding.
To pull facts out of one’s ass.
To humiliate oneself as an unhinged drunkard.
It pains me to say this because for many decades, Robert De Niro was like a god to me on account of his acting skills and filmography. He was right up there with musicians such as Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. Then about fifteen years ago, the decline started when De Niro began making dumb comedies that I believed were beneath him. However, I let it slide because, after all, he was a still god (lowercase “g”).
Then, over the past few years, he has become totally unhinged. He’s now officially a lunatic and an embarrassment to himself. He has become the poster boy for TDS (i.e., Trump Derangement Syndrome) for which there is no known cure.
Why did Robert De Niro himself by raving like a lunatic about President Trump?
Well, I will quote Scott Adams, who “knows a thing or two about a thing or two.” (See what I just did there?) A few years ago Scott explained De Niro’s behavior as the product of being an out-of-control alcoholic.
It’s the most plausible explanation I have found.
To be clear, as a Boomer I can deal with others having different opinions to my own. I won’t try to cancel anyone if they do.
However, what burns my biscuit is when someone treats me like an imbecile by spouting utter nonsense. I am referring to De Niro’s main threat that if re-elected, “Trump will never leave office.” In other words, he will declare himself dictator for life. This is simply not possible in America. He might as well rant that Trump will suspend gravity.
Even if we are stupid enough to take this prediction seriously, how long could we expect a man his age to remain in power? We’ll be fortunate if Trump survives his second four-year term to partially clean up the unmitigated disaster that is the Biden presiduncey.
In previous posts, I have mentioned leaving the Democratic Party because it had begun to treat its supporters like idiots. (Recall Nancy Pelosi’s famous “Huh, what is insider trading?” response when queried about how she reached a net worth of over $150 million in a career dependent on the public purse.) The Dems just keep getting dumber by the year. Now they can’t define what a woman is, despite claiming to be the champions of women’s rights. They destroy the states and cities they run while telling us they are competent managers. Perhaps the most outrageous lie they throw at us is the one about Biden being a viable candidate for four more years. The truth is that he hasn’t been viable since 2021. What we have been witnessing is elder abuse by “Dr. Jill” all these years.
God help us all if they should keep the White House for another four years.
